SPOILER INFO
This fanfic novel is largely based on the events that occurred in an actual game of Skyrim I played. Therefore, it's inevitably a spoiler.

Mages' Guild, Shimmerene, Summerset, Aldmeri Dominion

My amazing Breton roommates have already gone to their classes, so I just meet up with my followers. Lydia looks kind of... I'm not sure how to put it, triste? I watch her closely as we run toward Cloudrest, but she acts as normal and there's not much chance for chatting, what with watching out for the skeletons and such.

Gosh, I had forgotten the climb up from the Shrine of Auriel was so taxing!
grassy upward slope leads towards a spruce forest, blue sky
This is the easy part. We're almost there.

To my dismay, only one trader is at work at the Cloudrest Underground Market. The girls and I walk around some and socialize. Half past noon, we proceed to Corgrad where we spend a little more than an hour.

Now we're traveling to the northern coast where we need to retrieve an item called Poetic Blade  for the queen of Lillandril. I also intend to sneak into her quarters at night and steal some of her clothes. They are so amazing I've got to have them. That is the reason why we came to Summerset yesterday in the first place. The blade is merely to ingratiate ourselves with the queen. Maybe I'll need a favor from her in the future, or maybe I'll be punished less harsly should I get caught stealing from the exalted wardrobe.  :-)

A path leads comfortably through the mountains. The birches are very beautiful, and so, of course, are the palm trees on the beach. We pass by a village which should be Graddun Spring.

As we remember, this village is supposed to be inhabited by outlaws who are hostile to strangers. That's why we sneak carefully past it in case it's true and they might notice us and attack. This is not Skyrim, so I'm not obliged to kill bandits, and as you may have noticed, I hate to kill people who haven't done me anything bad. Besides, banditry adds instability to this region which, in spite of everything, is still Skyrim's enemy. (Although, come to think of it, I'm from High Rock, so why should I even care? But I do.)

About halfway between Graddun Spring and Lillandril is a small island with wooden fortifications. It's just off the coast (you can reach it along a walkway without having to swim) and it's really beautiful.

Can we stay here and live in that shack? Just joking, never mind.

As is usual, I go ahead of the girls as we attack the bandits.

(It was not my intention to shoot him in the groin. He was running and I didn't have a chance to aim properly.)

Reaching the top of the hill, we kill the bandit chief from whom we get the Poetic Blade. It's a dagger. Seems nothing special to me. But of course it can have an enchantment that works only in Queen Marawyn's hand.

Laura sits on a throne on a wooden platform, Jordis and Lydia stand in front of her, several palm trees visible
A nice throne they've got here. I like this place increasingly more. But we can't stay. We have important business in Lillandril.

On the Lillandril palace marketplace, they whisper that King Nelonaro is ill. Indeed Marawyn is alone in the throne room. She is happy with her dagger and rewards me with 25 000 septims and offers me the opportunity to buy a house in this city for that very price. I accept. As you know, I am already a citizen of Summerset, having bought Manor Keep further south, but it won't hurt to own a house in Lillandril too.

Now the girls and I walk around and such, and of course check out out new house. It looks similar to other Summerset city mansions we've seen – not exactly a palace, but beautiful and has plenty of space and beds for all of us to sleep comfortably.
two single beds in a room with stone walls and floor, two windows, some candles burning
This is the smaller bedroom.

The best part is a huge pool in the basement. This is great! It really pays to do favors to Aldmeri royalty!

I have things to do tonight, so I go to bed when it's not even dark yet.
