SPOILER INFO
This fanfic novel is largely based on the events that occurred in an actual game of Skyrim I played. Therefore, it's inevitably a spoiler.

We go to Bitchen today, with short stops in Kynesgrove, Vernim Wood and Shor. Nothing worthy of reporting happens on the road.

Lydia asks me why I freaked out when Yrsarald wanted to do anal, even though I had accepted it was going to happen eventually. I don't have an answer to that. It's true I had been thinking about it a lot, but somehow I didn't expect it to be so soon. Next time, I'll behave. Although (of course) the when is completely up to me. No one can force me to return to Windhelm unless I choose to.  ;-)

I ask Lydia if she's done that  with Bjarne. She replies he's never given any indication he wanted it, and she's not going to suggest. Yes, of course not.  :-)

All the settlements have been preparing for tonight's festivities and Bitchen is no exception. Hanging lanterns in a variety of colors are pleasing the eye and there are many people on the marketplace. Yet the traders are still working as usual, even though in visibly festive mood.

By half past 1 in the afternoon, I'm done with shopping and such, and Lydia is long done with Maul. We go down to Ratway to find that elusive man Esbern whom Rudelphine thinks would be a good idea to find. As I think I told you, we know from Maul he's (probably) there, but we don't know where exactly, and obviously we're not inviting Maul along. We'll just have to search.

There are some skeevers and bandits in the dungeon behind The Ragged Flagon, as well as a crazy but harmless man Salvianus. Eventually we notice a very strong-looking door with a viewing slot.

When I knock, the slot is opened. I get a glimpse of an oldish man who tells me to leave him alone and slams the slot shut. I try several times with the same result. I shout the passphrase Rudelphine has given me. No result. I shout that Delphine at the Riverwood inn wants to meet him, and that I know he's the archivist of the Blades and Delphine needs him to fight the returning dragons. I add a few rather unladylike phrases before I turn to go.

We can hear some more hostile creatures lurking about. We leave them be and go out. It's a few minutes after 5. I step into a little bakery called Canal Bakehouse. It's kept by a married couple Erek and Agathe who have a daughter Freda.

Agathe seems to be sad all the time, but I haven't yet found out why.

Come to think of it, she may well be the only sad person in Bitchen today.

I also pay a visit to Elgrim and his wife Hafjorg's alchemy shop and then join my followers on the marketplace. The traders are still trading, kind of, but the marketplace is full of people and everyone is very jolly. Even some people from the palace have come to socialize with the commoners.

I chat up Madesi, the Argonian trader I've been curious about. I mean, I'm curious to try sex with an Argonian man and he's the best I've been able to find anywhere. I lure him away from his stall and we mingle with the people and talk. All people are friendly tonight, even Maven Black-Briar. Eventually Madesi and I walk down to my house and make love. His... thing is somewhat unusual, but after a while I get used to it and thoroughly enjoy the experience.

Afterwards, we go back to the marketplace, but I realize soon I feel very tired, so I return home and go to sleep before midnight. It was a great evening all the same.
